The PT8125 Excalibur powermodules are a family of high-output,high-efficiency, fully integratedswitching regulators (ISRs), housedin a solderable 31-pin space-savingcopper package. These modulesoperate from a nominal input voltageof +12V to provide up to 30A ofoutput current at output voltages aslow as 0.8V. The output voltage isprogrammable via a 5-bit input code.The PT8125 family incorporatesa state-of-the-art, 2-phase, multiplepower path topology. This extendsthe output current range while providingsuperior transient responseand input current ripple performance.The PT8125 family is designedto power high-end computing andsignal processing applications, all ofwhich demand high output currentsat low supply voltages.The modules have a number offeatures to facilitate system integration.These include over-currentprotection, thermal shutdown, anon/off standby control, and an outputremote sense to compensate forvoltage drop between the regulatorand the load.
