The PT5400 Excalibur power modules are aseries of high-performance integrated switchingregulators (ISRs) based on TI’s SWIFT (SwitcherWith Integrated FET Technology) regulator ICs.These ready-to-use modules are rated for up to6 A of output current from input voltages as lowas 3.1 V, providing a convenient step-down powersource for the industry’s latest high-performanceDSPs and microprocessors. The series includesoutput voltage options as low as 1.0 VDC.The PT5400 modules are packaged in a 5-pinthermally efficient copper case, which offers theadvantage of solderability along with a small footprint(0.355 in², suffix ‘N’). Both through-hole andsurface mount pin configurations are available.The product features external output voltageadjustment, an on/off inhibit function, short circuitprotection, and thermal shutdown. A 100-µFinput capacitor is required for proper operation.
