The Backbone distribution cables are designed for routing between communications closets, as intra-building backbone cables. Distribution cables are all-dielectric and consist of 900µm tight buffered fibers surrounded by aramid yarn strength members and a flexible thermoplastic outer jacket. Twenty-four, and higher fiber count constructions have two or more subunits and a central strength member (24 fiber side by side constructions do not have a central strength member). The cables are available in Riser and Plenum constructions with bend insensitive single-mode, 62.5/125 µm OM1, 50/125 µm OM2, 50/125 µm OM3, or 50/125 µm OM4 fiber.
